Innovation

I realize that we have made some great strides in construction, materials, and design over the past 100 years, but are we really where we should be? To me I do not think there is enough minds at work developing great products for builders that cut cost, stay green, and are easy to work with. Lets face it, we have a long way to go to catch up with technology as far as innovation goes, but if technology advances and everything else stays dormit, then won't technology eventually plateau? Tell me what you think and lets begin talking about innovation not only for architecture and the related industries, but everything that needs innovation.
