"green"

let me take a second and get off on a tangent about green design and the whole green revolution that is taking place.....

first i would like to say that it is about time that we design like we give a darn....

second i would like to say that it is going to take more than just a few people to make this thing work....

i know that whenever i design a building i take absolutely everything possible into consider, not just "green" materials, but also orientation to the sun along with the way the structure is design to support passive solar and ventilation.....

i really hope that they start offering class and maybe a certification for green design......

is it more expensive to be green? heck no many times it saves you a huge amount of money.....

take for instance doing a rammed earth floor....this is a floor that is created by using the existing sites clay and reusing it as your floor....you might be saying ok like i am going to have a dirt floor? but let me tell you, this floor looks shiny and nice, supposedly it is easy to walk on and one of the easiest floors to keep clean.....you don't pay for materials....unless of course your clay is not the correct consistency....but even then i do not see mud as being expensive on the market just for the simple fact of supply and demand, which in todays market seems to not be the way things are ran anymore but i digress.....just think about it check out this clip......
